As highway 101, in the central coast, veers from the valley down to the sea, a rare treat awaits the traveler in the historic village of Arroyo Grande, California. Other events of interest are the Summer Concert Series and the Harvest Festival in September.

A must-see tourist attraction is Oceano Dunes State Park. If you drive west on Grand Ave, through the adjacent town of Grover Beach, you'll arrive at the park entrance. This 5 ½ mile stretch of beach is among the most popular and unique of California State Parks, because it's the only State Park where vehicles may be driven on the beach.
