My shop became a dream come true. Not just for me, but for the local women who came in each day women who shared a single thought and a single passion: CHOCOLATE! Not just any chocolate, but THEIR kind of chocolates, hand-crafted to satisfy that insatiable, once-a-month craving every woman knows by heart. Even before I opened my first chocolate shop,” Mary recalls, “I loved creating chocolate confections in my kitchen. I’d take favorite treats such as sandwich-style cookies – top-quality ones – then make them twice as good by dipping them in smooth, rich, quality chocolate. I developed quite a reputation. In fact, my friends made up a name for me. They called me the ‘perfectionist confectionist.’ They’d come over and drop hints such as ‘Mary, have you ever tried dipping marshmallows, fruit or nuts in chocolate? Or how about pretzels?’ I’d have great fun trying all sorts of combinations to satisfy that undeniable craving for chocolate – that mysterious obsession every woman experiences, especially at THAT time of the month. The combination of cravings, chocolate, chats and laughter always ended in a smile.
