“Eureka!”--The jubilant cry of the lucky gold prospector striking it rich. Today it’s a lucky traveler who takes a drive over to the town of Eureka, a Northern California seacoast treasure! The city of Eureka is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, containing 154 buildings mostly from the Victorian era. Just on the edge of town is Eureka's most famous tourist attraction, the Carson Mansion, a splendid example of Victorian-era craftsmanship, and among the most photographed example of eclectic American architecture in the United States. Eureka's downtown Boardwalk along Humboldt Bay is home to restaurants, museums, art galleries and venues for theater, live music and entertainment. The nearby town of Arcata is home to Humboldt State University, and the picture postcard Village of Ferndale is south of town.

Eureka is perfect for long strolls along pristine beaches or a quiet day spent hiking or camping in the towering Redwoods forests of Humboldt County. Eureka's annual events and festivals include Arts Alive on the first Saturday of each month, Woofstock, a festival for man's best friend, Blues By The Bay, and North Coast Open Studios where artisits open their doors to the public.
