A must see is Folsom State Prison. The prison is one of Folsom's most popular attractions, and its where Johnny Cash performed his most popular song "Folsom Prison Blues" in front of a select group of inmates in 1968. Since opening in 1880, the prison is one of the oldest correctional facilities in the state. For visitors interested in the “stories” of Folsom Prison, including Charles Manson, and the “hangman gallows,” stop in the Folsom Prison Museum. The museum is open 10 am to 4 pm daily.
