The Kennedy Mine, famous for being one of the deepest gold mines in the world (at 5912 feet), which produced approximately $34,280,000 in gold during its lifetime. The most notable feature is one of the tallest head frames in existence today, which was used to lower the miners deep into the earth. The surface tour includes the mine office building, stamp and gold recovery mill, and tailing wheels. The mine is open on weekends and holidays from March through October.
