Although it is the home to countless celebrities, the real stars in Malibu are sun, sand, and surf. Malibu Pier is a Southern California historic landmark where surfers from around the world come to Surfrider Beach (adjacent to the Pier) for its three-point break that offers rides of 300 yards or more. The Getty Villa in Malibu is the original site of the J. Paul Getty Museum. It is an educational center and museum dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. The museum serves a varied audience with its permanent collection, changing exhibitions, conservation, scholarship, research, and public programs in an intimate setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Malibu is a popular destination for millions of tourists, who come to relax along the blue Pacific or enjoy a variety of recreation, art and entertainment options.
