The city’s most popular and famous municipal playground is Dennis The Menace Playground located on Pearl Street. The park first opened in 1956 and has undergone four major renovations since then. The park features an old steam engine train that kids and parents can tour and climb on. Plus, there is a swinging bridge, several jungle gyms, giant slides, a maze, a climbing wall, an adventure ship, and more. Always a kid's favorite. Open daily 10 a.m. to dusk. Dennis the Menace Playground has several play structures, three large slides, a climbing wall for rock climbers-to-be, a fun suspension bridge, a hedge maze with a play structure in the center, a giant adventure ship and more. History fans will also love exploring the authentic Southern Pacific steam engine at the playground. Bathroom breaks are not a problem, as the playground also has public restrooms.
