A vacation to Monterey Peninsula isn't complete without a visit to Old Fisherman's Wharf. A myriad of great restaurants, seafood, unique shops, whale watching, fishing, bay cruises, theatre, plus you'll enjoy the unique sights and sounds of Monterey's past. The Pacific Coast Steamship Company constructed the wharf in 1870 for regular passenger and freight service, with ships arriving four times weekly. In 1913, City Council assumed ownership of the pier.
