The museum is located downtown in the Fountain Tallman Soda Works Building, the oldest surviving building in Placerville. It was constructed in 1852, and was originally the site of the first soda works, where water was bottled and sold to Miners. Now, it houses a small museum, where you'll find exhibits that provide a glimpse at Placerville's colorful past, including artifacts from an early Chinese settlement and other 19th century memorabilia.
