Sutter Gold Mine
Sutter Gold Mine is a modern hard rock mine located on historic Highway 49 just north of Sutter Creek. The mine is now open for one-hour underground tours deep into the heart of the Motherlode. Before the mine tour begins, everyone is fitted with hard-hats, and then you climb aboard the Boss Buggy Shuttle for a historic journey deep underground. You'll learn about geology and mining technology as you traverse beneath thousands of tons of rock. Above ground, kids can mine for gemstones.

Monteverde Store Museum
Opened in 1898, the Monteverde General Store Museum displays all the paraphernalia from the past. Take a step back in time and experience a little slice of “frontier life.” The store contains dry goods, groceries, pharmaceuticals, apparel, hardware, clothing, and miner supplies. There's even penny candy that was a popular item back then. It is a perfectly preserved Time Capsule. Open most days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and volunteer docents are eager to share the history of the Monteverde family.

Jackson Rancheria Casino
Owned and operated by the Miwuk Indian tribe, Jackson Rancheria Casino & Hotel features over 1,500 slot and video machines, more than 50 gaming tables, a 24-hour Poker Room, High Limit Room, and more. Chaw'se Indian Grinding Rock State Park
Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills eight miles east of Sutter Creek. The park nestles in a little valley 2,400 feet above sea level with open meadows and large valley oaks that once provided the native Americans of this area with an ample supply of acorns. The 135-acre park was created in 1968 and preserves a great outcropping of marbleized limestone with some 1,185 mortar holes — the largest collection of bedrock mortars in North America.

Black Chasm Cavern
Black Chasm Cavern was designated a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service in 1976. The 50-minute walking tour follows a series of environmentally friendly stairs and walkway that lead you underground. The cave tour culminates in the Landmark Room, famous for an amazing collections of sparkling crystals. You'll see a wide variety of formations include stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and the vast arrays of rare helictite crystals, for which Black Chasm Cavern is famous for.

Amador City
Just a few miles up the Hwy 49 from Sutter Creek is the charming
town of Amador City. One of the state’s smallest cities, Amador City is truly a little city with a lot to offer. Original mining-era buildings are now home to unique boutiques, antique stores, art galleries, and museums. Dining options include cafes, old-fashioned soda fountain, and gourmet restaurants. There’s also wine tasting, a great artisan bakery, and more.
