Sutter Gold Mine Tours 11 18 2010

Sutter Gold Mine is a modern hard rock mine located on historic Highway 49 just north of Sutter Creek. The mine is now open for one-hour underground tours deep into the heart of the Motherlode. Before the mine tour begins, everyone is fitted with hard-hats, and then you climb aboard the Boss Buggy Shuttle for a historic journey deep underground. You'll learn about geology and mining technology as you traverse beneath thousands of tons of rock. Above ground, kids can mine for gemstones.

Andrae's Bakery is a must stop when driving to or from Sutter Creek. It's located in the nearby town of Amador City. Their specialty is handcrafted, hearth baked bread made the traditional way without mixes or preservatives.
