Fun Things To Do in Tiburon, CA

Tiburon is the perfect front row seat for taking in the astounding beauty of the San Francisco Bay. Arrive by ferry at the boat harbor or by car via Marin County to an exciting day of shopping and exploring this waterfront setting made for exploring on foot or bicycle. Tiburon's Main Street has been preserved in the style of a Gold Rush era train town and lumberyard. One of four distinct shopping areas, the scenic "Ark Row" shops and restaurants are housed in turn of the century boathouses. History buffs will enjoy a visit to the 1884 Tiburon Railroad-Ferry Depot Museum, and to Old St. Hilary’s, a Carpenter Gothic church set in the midst of a thriving wildflower preserve. For cyclists, the Tiburon Peninsula Bike Loop starts on Paradise Drive, just steps from the ferry dock, runs along a scenic road to the back side of Tiburon, then cuts across the peninsula to rendezvous with the Tiburon bike path at Blackie’s Pasture. Rich in history and a short ferryride across Raccoon Strait is the 740-acre Angel Island State Park, the "Jewel of San Francisco Bay.” Trails for bicycles, and kayak rentals are available on the island; bring a picnic or eat at the island cafe. Tour the island on a Segway! Popular annual events include the Tiburon Wine Festival, the International Film Festival at Tiburon Playhouse and music and dining on Friday Nights on Tiburon’s Main Street. Tiburon is located north of San Francisco on Richardson Bay in southern Marin County.
